Security, Information Submission and Acceptable-Use Policy

 

The objective of the Makah Community Access Portal (http://www.makahcap.net/)

is to have another medium available to quickly and securely disseminate pertinent, useful information to the Makah community. 

 

By Logging In to the Makah Community Access Portal, you are hereby agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:

 

1. Security

 

1.A. It shall be the policy of the Makah Community Technology Team to provide Portal Access to enrolled Makah tribal members and members of the Neah Bay community.

 

1.A.1. In order to obtain a User Name and Password for the Portal, an individual may be asked provide acceptable proof to the Makah Community Technology Team of either: their enrollment in the Makah tribe, or their residency in Neah Bay; and

 

1.A.2. A Verification Form may be obtained from the Portal Administrator. Also requested is an updated email address, current mailing address, and telephone number, so User may be contacted, in the event it becomes necessary; and

 

1.A.3. Violation, or refusal to provide such information may result in denial of Access to the Portal.

 

1.B. Registered Portal Users will not let another person use or have access to your assigned User Name and/or Password.

 

1.B.1. There are various roles assigned to individual users, and each role has a different security layer.  Each module within the Portal carries different access roles, which may potentially contain privileged information or items that may be considered to be of confidential in nature.

 

1.B.2. Therefore, a violation of this Term & Condition, may result in said User’s Portal Access privileges being revoked.

 

2. Information Submission and Acceptable-Use

 

2.A. It shall be the policy of the Makah Community Technology Team to deny requests for postings to the Portal that may be considered in any way, offensive-- we want this to be an enjoyable experience for ALL Users. Prohibited, Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to:

 

2.A.1. Personal attacks, rude or crude material, racist or derogatory remarks, items with sexual innuendos or any other type of materials that are deemed offensive by the Community Technology Team; and

 

2.A.2. Sending, accessing or storing discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, or pornographic material; and

 

2.A.3. Providing fraudulent or deceitful information, or intentionally misleading others, including editing another User’s Submission; and

 

2.A.4. Transmitting confidential, proprietary, or trade secret information; and

 

2.A.5. Attempting to access, or illegally accessing the administrative capabilities of the Portal or its Server.

 

2.A.6. Violation of this Information Submission and Acceptable-Use Policy may result in said User’s Portal Access privileges being revoked. 

 

Additionally, by agreeing to these terms and conditions, you affirm that you have read and fully understand the MakahCAP policies.

 

The Makah Community Technology Team was established by the Makah Tribal Council via Resolution #44-02, on 04/01/2002.  The Technology Team approved these Policies on 11/25/2003.
